The aim of this unit is to provide Entrepreneurs with background knowledge and understanding of business, the functions of an organisation and the wider business environments in which organisations operate. Entrepreneurs will examine the different types of organisations (including for profit and not for profit), their size and scope (for instance, micro, SME, transnational and global) and how they operate.
Entrepreneurs will explore the relationships that organisations have with their various stakeholders and how the wider external environments influence and shape business decision-making.
The knowledge, understanding and skill sets gained in this unit will help Entrepreneurs to choose their own preferred areas of specialism in future studies and in their professional career.
Dr Patrick Khor has been a serial entrepreneur for 15 years, during which he built his company from scratch and developed it into an international fast growing technology training and education network. With more than 200 staff and 15 centres located in 7 countries in the Asia Pacific region, his company was merged with a public listed company in Singapore Stock Exchange main board in 2006. Currently Dr Khor is the founder / Group CEO of iBosses Corporation Limited (ASX: IB8) (“iBosses” and “Company”). iBosses was successfully listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) on Wednesday, 30 September 2015.
